Firm Upgrade, a division of Lawthentics Limited (“we,” “us” — www.lawthentics.com), helps law firms modernize their technology. We take privacy seriously — it is, quite literally, part of what we sell. This page explains what information this website collects, what it doesn’t, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.
- We do not sell or rent visitor information, and we do not share it for advertising.
- Fonts, images, and all site assets are served from our own server — your visit is not disclosed to third-party services.
- The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us through the contact form or by email.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set cookies for visitors. Specifically:
- No tracking or advertising cookies. We do not use ad networks, remarketing pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
- No analytics cookies. We do not currently run analytics. If we ever add a privacy-respecting analytics tool, it will load only after you click “Accept” in our cookie notice — declining will never affect your ability to use the site.
- Your consent choice (accept or decline) is stored in your browser’s local storage on your own device. It is not a cookie, it is not transmitted to us, and it exists only so we don’t ask you again. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer, or clear it by clearing your browser data.
- Administrative cookies. WordPress sets functional cookies for site administrators when they log in to manage the site. These never apply to visitors.
Information you send us
If you submit our contact form, we receive the information you enter: your name, email address, and message, and optionally your phone number, firm name, firm size, and area of interest. We use it for exactly one purpose: responding to your inquiry and, if you become a client, serving your engagement. We do not add you to marketing lists you didn’t ask for.
When you submit the form, we store what you entered in our website’s database together with a reference number, the time it was received, and its delivery status (whether our email alert to the team and any internal hand-off succeeded). Our team is alerted by email. Inquiries are handled within Lawthentics Limited, our parent company, and may be passed to its internal system for managing inquiries; they are not added to marketing lists. We retain inquiries only as long as needed to handle your request or as required for our business records.
To limit abuse, the form keeps a one-way hashed form of your IP address for about ten minutes to count recent submissions. If a submission can’t be accepted, the answers you typed may be held on our server for up to 15 minutes so the form can show them back to you, and are then deleted. Please don’t include client confidential information or matter details in the form.
Information we collect automatically
Like nearly all web servers, our hosting infrastructure may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to profile visitors and are not combined with any other data.
Third parties
This website loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers. We mention third-party products (such as Clio, MyCase, LexisNexis, Westlaw, Midpage, Anthropic, and OpenAI) and display their logos for identification only; visiting our site sends no information to those companies. If you follow a link to an external website, that site’s own privacy policy applies.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights regarding personal information — including the right to know what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted (under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU General Data Protection Regulation, where applicable). Because the only personal information we hold about visitors is what they’ve sent us, exercising these rights is simple: email us and we will confirm, correct, or delete your information promptly. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Security
We limit access to inquiry records to the people who handle them and apply the security practices we advise our clients to adopt on the systems that hold inquiry data.
Children
Our services are for law firms; this site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change — for example, if we add an analytics tool — we will update this page and the cookie notice before the change takes effect, and any new non-essential technology will remain off unless you accept it.
